As things always need doing in this hobby as in

  • The loco's need to be cleaned
  • Ash pans emptied
  • Faults attended too
  • Inspections to be carried out every time we go out
  • Loco's warmed up a day before they go on trips
  • Loco's being lit up five hours before they are due out on the trips
  • Bagging coal for the next trip
  • Carriages being cleaned
  • Paper work so we can do trips
  • Weeds need spraying
  • Track work

    • These are some of the jobs that most people don't see, what's involved in running trains.

    Help needed

  • We are planing to clean out an old wooden carriage to set up Les Hacketts model railway.
    The younger members with help are intending to build a NZR layout.
    Most important of all anyone who has NZR 3/16, 1:64 S scale model railway items (track, locos or rolling stock) and would like to donate to Feilding Steam Rail we would be most grateful to receive it.
    Any donations towards to purchase of NZR rolling stock, or of time would be gratefully received.
